Beyonce dominates album charts

Beyonce’s third solo album, “I Am…Sasha Fierce“, started out the same way her previous albums have, by dominating the sales charts. Her latest album, a double at that, sold approximately 482,000 copies in the United States alone. The album easily beat out a few other debuts, which included Nickelback and American Idol graduate David Cook. The amount of units sold is pretty amazing by today’s standards but doesn’t come close to her 2006 release “B-Day”. And actually it doesn’t even come close to last week’s debut “Fearless” by Taylor Swift which sold 592,000.
Debuting at the top of the charts was no suprise for this diva as she has been on fire as of late. Beyonce has had two number one singles before this album was even released. Those songs “If I Were A Boy” and “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” have dominated radio waves and digital single sales for a while now. This week along those two songs, were ranked number one and two for downloads. So yea, Beyonce has got the game on lock, much like her husband Jay-Z used to do.
Here’s the official Top 10 list for the week.
