Scrubs starts with a new ‘friend’

For the fans of the hit comedy, “Scrubs“ it returns to your television screen on January 6th, 2009 on ABC.   Not only will Scrubs be making the switch from NBC to ABC, it will also be taking one of the biggest past stars of the station, Courteney Cox Arquette.  Cox starred for years on the hit show “Friends” and will now be appearing on Scrubs” for a three episode arc.   On the show she’ll be playing the new chief of medicine at Sacred Heart.

Her role on Scrubs will be her first comedy role since ending her run on Friends.  Her guest appearance has led to another possible role for Cox.  Bill Lawrence, the creator of Scrubs, has been a fun of her work on the show and now partenered with Cox for a new comedy, “Cougar Town“  In that role, she’ll be playing what else a 40 year old mother, with a 17 year old son.  “Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free,” Lawrence told the Hollywood Reporter “People don’t do the reality of it, and there is a real comedy area about a woman who is talking about Botox, about having sex with the lights on and how her body is changing.”  Sounds like something I might have to check out at least once.
