SNL Star To Drop An Album

Saturday Night Live star Adam Samberg is planning on releasing an album, Icredibad in February of 2009. Samberg is pretty much one of the main players on SNL right now, appearing in almost every skit it seems. It also turns out he’s musically talented. We’ve all seen his skit with Justin Timberlake
, “Dick in a Box”, but he’s also made several other musical based shorts for show over the past few years, including “Lazy Sunday” and “Natalie Raps”. This will not be a solo album thou.
The album will be officially released from the group Lonely Island, a three man group. The group does include Samberg and two of his buddies, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer. Thanks to his years on SNL, Samberg has enlisted a pretty remarkable group of co-stars on the album. It will feature guest appearances from T-Pain, Norah Jones, Jack Black, E-40, the Strokes’ singer Julian Casablancas and Justin Timberlake. Who would of thought JT would appear? Can only imagine what that track is going to be like.
“We definitely wanted it to be a classic comedy album, but also one you put on more than once,” Samberg told MTV News. “We’ve gone out of our way to make it musically pleasing. We started on a few songs that were not funny enough, for us, but they sounded pretty cool. And the bottom line for the project was, ‘Is it going to be funny first and music second?’ I think it’s 95 percent music, and we hope people would throw it on and bump it.”
Hearing that I still can’t but think the album will have more then five percent comedy. I mean really the first single will be “Jizz In My Pants”, which is just downright hilarious. There is a link to that video below. Personally, I can’t wait to hear the album. Samberg is currently one of my favorite characters on SNL, and I’m sure this album will continue to show this man’s talent.
