Tara Reid enters rehab

A popular piece of news Friday was that actress Tara Reid voluntarily checked herself in to rehab, specifically Promises Treatment Center in Malibu. Many people, myself included, probably thought about damn time. For years she’s been in the tabloids for excessive drinking and well pretty much making a fool of herself when she does. Apparently this is a surprise thou. I didn’t know this but supposedly the actress has been getting her life together over the past few months, and leaving the party girl image behind. Yea, I know I’m skeptical too. The reason for entering is not clear thou. Her publicist, Jack Ketsoyan said, “We appreciate your respect to her and her family’s privacy at this time.”
Back in October, the former American Pie star, told reporters that she was now just a “social drinker”. That she was leaving that lifestyle behind. She even said, “I’ve done enough of everything for a lifetime! I partied. I had fun. I ate and drank and dated a million guys, but I’m so happy with where I am right now. I don’t need to do any of that anymore.” How truthful was she there? Who the hell knows. I just wish I could of been one of those girls earlier in her career. Before all those men and bad plastic surgery.
In addition to her comment, her last movie producer also had great things to say about her. “Tara was 100 percent professional,” Matthew O’connor told E! News. “She came in totally prepared every day.” When asked about any troubling signs, he responded by saying, “Absolutely not, She was better than fine — great.”
Hopefully checking into rehab was the next step in her progression to normalcy. She’s always said she won’t slip back in to her old ways, but alcohol is strong and could easily get someone back to their old ways. Hopefully this is more of just a making sure the urges are gone, and not she relapsed and needed to get help. Regardless, she’ll be at the center through the holidays, both Christmas and New Years. Not really a bad thing I’d have to say.
